I was born May 27, 1933, in Allentown, Pa. and have lived there all my life.
I graduated from Allentown High School in 1951. Went to Rider College for three years, majoring in accounting. |
Married Dolly (Morgan) Yost, December 1954. We have two sons Jerome Jr. and Robert and a daughter Diana, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
After leaving college I enlisted as a Naval Air Cadet stationed in Pensacola, Fla. After a brief sea duty went to Atlantic City Naval Air Station where I remained until discharged.
After the Navy I worked for PPL in the cost division preparing costs for the Penna. Utility Commission.
Left PPL for D. F .Bast, Inc. as Office Manager. Responsibilities of doing Accounting and Payroll for about 100 drivers and office personnel and prepared all the reports required by the Interstate Commerce Commission.
In 1965 started my own Accounting and Tax Service, and still do some part-time work.
I worked for Homer O. Faylor, CPA for a few years part-time to gain experience in audit and tax accounting. My experience ranged from small business to municipal accounts.
I was in Boy Scouts for over 50 years. As a Boy , Troop 101 and Explorer Post 101. and
later as an adult in the council level. In 1988 received the Silver Beaver from Minsi Trails Council. I am a wood badger and earned my 3rd bead serving on a number of wood badge staffs.
Twice I have been president of the consistory at St. Marks UCC. Was treasurer and sang on the choir for about 25 years, taught adult Sunday school, and served on other various committees such as the endowment and bazaar.
Joined Bethlehem Lodge #283 being raised in May 2000. Joined the Tall Cedars in September 2000. I was Grand Tall Cedar in 2004 and 2005. Scribe 2007 and 2008 and Aide to George A. Morgan, Jr. for the last 3 years.
Presently I am treasurer of Troop Camp Assn, Inc. of Penna. This is a Non-Profit Corporation with a goal of building a youth camp on south mountain for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Church Groups in the Area. |
